Xmas Eve

Highlight of today is the lunch arranged at the Inn on the Quay, Paignton. This is a Premier Inn Hotel and Restaurant.
The meal is well cooked and the service was excellent...

This time, our last meal in a Brewers fayre was less than agreable. Cold and the service awful.
We parked up the van without any trouble, the manager has given us a 3 day pass to park all day. We are shown to our table and order some drinks, Dutch Cider a festive blend of apple, cranberry and cinnamon. A bit of a 'girly' drink but tasted really nice. Lelsey liked it so I ordered several more bottles to take away. After the main course ( we only ordered 2 courses) the puddings arrived apple crumble and custard. Just as well the van is outside.

After a while we decided to walk off the big lunch. Lots of people are out walking thier dogs on Goodrington Sands. Santa’s special steam train to Dartmouth passes by, a touch of nostalgia as the whistle blows and the steam beltches out from the chimney stack, you can’t help but turn around to look.

We are soon back at the Van and heading for home( Hillhead) the roads are quieter, I guess every one has bought all the shopping now.
As we sit in the awning drinking a cup of tea I can hear the pitter patter of the rain gently falling down on the canvas roof. We have brought back some of the decorations we where given to jolly along our lunch. I blow up the balloons and hang them from the tent poles, with streamers tucked behind.                                                                                           Lesley’s little angels, which she bought in Dunster are rotating around a lit tea light candle below.
